17 of 18 of Risley’s Pardons Signed for September, October, and November 2021

We are very pleased to announce that Governor Stitt has signed 17 out of 18 of the pardons requested by pardon attorney Michael A. Risley, from the September, October, and November 2021 Pardon & Parole Board dockets.

We are sad to report that we did receive our first denial of 2021, on a violent crime. Nonetheless, our record stands at 88 successful applications out of 89 attempts since the beginning of the year, which is an excellent record (98.9% success rate).

The details are as follows:

September 2021 Docket: 10 pardons requested, 10 pardons recommended by the Board, 9 pardons granted by the Governor. There were 21 pardons on the September docket, so 48% of the applicants were represented by our office.

October 2021 Docket: 8 pardons requested, 8 pardons recommended by the Board, 8 pardons granted by the Governor. There were 21 pardons on the October docket, so 38% of the applicants were represented by our office.

November 2021 Docket: This docket was cancelled by the Board, and all those clients that were scheduled to be heard in November we heard in December. We have not yet received results from the Governor for December.

95% for the winter isn’t so bad! We were also excited to see that we represented 42% of the people before the Board for September, October, and November. Looking forward to the results from 2022!
